Well that did NOT turn out good...

Hey guys......you're probably wondering how my weekend at TrotCon went........believe me, it was NOT what I was expecting.

First of all, I already told you this but Tuesday RusticShine had important matters to attend to on Thursday and couldn't get me to the con on time which meant I had no ride so I had to take my mom's car to Ohio.  I chose to leave Wednesday night so I could spend the night at my sister and her husband's house.  I did that and then left Thursday night, got signed into TrotCon and then spend the night at 's or Brandon's apartment room which was generous of him but sadly the couch was way too small for me so I got like no hours of sleep.

Ok, so its' day 1 of the con.  I get up and drive with Brandon to the hotel and we get there just fine.  I get my stuff set up at my table and we're ready to go.  First day was....eh.  I didn't make quite a lot of money.  My buttons sold well and so did the 4x6 prints but I only sold one 11x17 print, no Companion Cubes, and neither of my sculptures were bought.  But I just thought it's fine, I'll probably do better tomorrow since Saturdays are usually busier in the vendor hall.  Later that night I was told that Rustic couldn't even make it to the con but thankfully I was able to sign into the hotel room and it didn't cost that much in the end.  Got signed in, relaxed, watched the Lego Movie on my laptop, went to bed.

Day 2 now and sadly things didn't get much better.  I think I might have made a bit more money, I"m not sure cuz I kinda lost count and I had to mix in some money I already had from my wallet in order to give people change for stuff so let's say it was about the same amount as Friday.  I did sell a few more 11x17 prints and the buttons did really well and most characters had sold out by then and the 4x6 prints were doing good and I sold one of my Companion Cubes but no buyers for the Discord or Twilight sculptures.  So yeah, at this rate things aren't looking too good for me in the vendor but I did get a laugh out of 's panel later that night which cheered me up.  

Day 3 and this was the worst.  I made much less money on Sunday.  Buttons nearly sold out though, I only have like 17 out of the original 113 left so at least we had that.  Sold a few more 4x6 prints though there are still a lot left over.  Sold a few 11x17 prints but not a lot.   was kind enough to buy one of my companion cubes so that was nice.  Still no buyers for Discord or Twilight.  All in all I had over $2000 worth of things there but only made a small fraction of it and was expecting to do way better than that.  But I said oh well, I'll learn and next time will be different.  So I sign out of my hotel room, get packed up and ready to go, I pull into a gas station to fill up for the trip home and next thing you know......BOOM......flat tire.

There was a little piece of torn metal on the lip of the curb that I ran over and it ripped my front right tire.  Thankfully 's dad was able to help me put the replacement on but I can't drive home in that thing and I couldn't buy a new one cuz all the repair shops are either closed on Sunday or were open but were just closing at that time.  I drove carefully back to the hotel and had no trouble getting a room for one more night but tomorrow I'll have to get up and go to Wal-Mart or something to get a new tire and THEN try and see if I can make it home.........

I'm currently sitting in my room right now typing this up and checking some messages here and there and have internet access to keep me busy plus I brought my drawing pad and a few other things that can entertain me in the meantime.

But yeah, this sure bites.  I guess I'll live and learn and it could have been MUCH worse but this did not turn out how I wanted it too.  I could really use a hug right now.........
