EDIT:  Just so you guys know I was able to get Adblock installed (not AdBlock Plus) and it seems to work for everything right now except YouTube.  Yeah, apparently Google paid Adblock to not block their ads.  Yet another reason why YouTube is one of the worst websites ever....  :iconfacepalmplz:

I don't get what the problem is.  I used to run ABP on my Mac and it was working fine and then one fateful day I started noticing YouTube ads playing again when I start videos.  Another problem I have is that whenever i visit one of those sites where you can see cartoon episodes online like watchcartoonsonline.com or something, I get these stupid ads that pop up.  I can click out of those but I'm afraid to even use said sites anymore because I also get a box that appears that says my computer has a virus or it has porn and that if I click OK it will remove it which is the only button I CAN click to begin with (like I would fall for that, so I just press the power button and shut down and thankfully there really is no threat).  If any of you guys get something like that, do NOT ever click OK, that is probably what will give you an actual virus.

I have installed ABP dozens more times to see if it will reinstall and nothing happens.  YouTube still runs it's stupid annoying ads, Tumblr has some sponsored posts and recommended blogs appearing in my feed, and Twitter is doing the same too.  Thankfully here on DA I don't need to worry about ads cuz I get premium memberships from really kind people who just give me one whenever I'm about to run out so this site is practically the only place I don't have to worry about ads.  I just wish there didn't have to be ads on the internet period.  We've had way too many people get viruses from them and it should be enough to tell site managers that these ads either need to go or should be monitored more carefully so they don't have harmful software attached.  I promise that if I ever make a website of my own, I will NEVER allow ads on there, I'll just be smart like the guy who made Wikipedia and get revenue through donations or something instead.

Anyways, my question to you guys is do you know why ABP isn't working for me?  I'm running Safari just so you know and like I said, I've tried reinstalling it several times and its' not working.  I could be doing something wrong.  If ABP is outdated now or something, at least tell me if there's any good software that can block ads pretty well cuz I dont' know how much longer I can deal with this crap...

I use fair Adblock. It seems to work fine and you don't get that orange banner thing. You get to block ads and support a cause at the same time.
