I was at Best Buy this past weekend and the only Mac-friendly editing-program they had was Adobe Premiere Elements which was like $60 but the guy there told me I am probably better off with Final Cut Pro which is a bit more expensive but is better suited for Mac users.

I have background knowledge on how to use FCP.  I actually used it to make my old unfinished "Transformers New Cybertron" stop-motion project some of you guys might remember from back in 2012.  It does look like it's a bit more expensive though and they didn't have it at Best Buy so I'll have to download it.

Premiere Elements seems ok and was cheaper.  The guy I was talking to said it works great for both Mac and PC and you can switch between either one at any time.  I have never used it though and I am unsure of that.

I am leaning towards Final Cut Pro and I think that's what I'll settle on.  I might still have some of those explosion effects sitting around in my external hard drive I used to store that project on and they could be used for videos in the future if I remember how to do it.  Heck, if I had finished filming all the scenes for part 2 of New Cybertron, I would try to finish it!  I didn't finish filming it though and a lot of those figures I used have been altered due to custom paint jobs, not to mention Sentinel's "dark energon cannon" is now repainted and remolded to go with Prime Megatron as you saw here so that probably won't happen.  But I'm not looking to complete that project anyhow...

As you all know, I have thought of doing brony-centered analysis videos lately but have been lazy about getting editing software and other things to get started but after having getting a huge tax return this spring and increasing my paychecks lately, I am more confident to do this providing there are no roadblocks or tech issues.  There won't be tremendous amounts of money spent on these things anyhow.  Right now, all I need is the software.  I already have a Blue Yeti Mic which I've just recently figured out how to use for making recordings that I can just put visuals over for a video so making an analysis video won't be too hard.

The other thing is, the type of motion graphics we see in the analysis videos is very simple and would be easy for me to tackle, probably too easy.  I like that we can make videos like that in this fandom and no one will whine about how it's choppy or poorly-done animation cuz we all know full animation takes forever to do and these videos are made usually on a weekly basis so there isn't enough time for that so they rest with the simple motion graphics format.  I could definitely work with that and get one done in a timely manner I'm sure and I think it could help me market myself better.  Analysts seem to still be a popular thing in this community and there are a lot of things I've wanted to talk about before that I think the fandom could use...

Well that's all I have to say.  I'll see if I can get my hand on FCP soon here but you guys are welcome to tell me more about the program or if APE is better or if there's a better alternative.  Give me whatever advice you can give in the comments below and thanks for reading.
