Too Many Pinkie Pies review (SPOILERS)

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 17, 2012, 7:54 PM
Click here to watch it on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOheH9…

What a silly and adorable episode!  It was almost kinda confusing to follow along with due to the fact that there were so many, but I kinda knew all along who the real Pinkie was, how did she not know?  I mean all the others were just constantly like "FUNFUNFUNFUNFUN!!!" and the real Pinkie isn't quite that ADHD.  And someone pointed this out on YouTube:  why didn't they just get the element of Laughter to test it out and see who the real Pinkie was?  Well, it would have probably taken extra work to go get it rather than just get the paint they needed to dry.  The part at the end with all the other Pinkie's getting sent back was hilarious!  Apparently they can morph their faces and grow fingers (freaking hilarious!) and some of them get all bloated like balloons when they get shocked by Twilight's magic!  The other Pinkies sure were hilarious and random and it was cute seeing a bunch of them all together!  Too bad we can't have all those adorable pink ponies but that kinda would cause a lot of chaos.....  ^^;

Other funny parts were the random things that Twilight accidentally turned into oranges, that huge bear from Lesson Zero is back and paling around with Fluttershy and her other animal friends (and apparently they have a little tree in the Everfree forest to hide during fallouts or something) and then Pinkie saying that the "walls were closing in" when the camera was zooming in on her and she actually touched the edges of the screen and Fluttershy was like "But.....we're outside."

Only thing is it sorta seemed a bit rushed and they left out some things I would have liked to see.  For example, how did Pinkie ever know about the mirror pond?  All of a sudden we hear her say something about it and then she goes off into the forest and finds it just like that.  She even mentioned her Nana Pinkie telling her about it but we didn't see her in this episode.  I kinda wanted to see a little more of how this all came to be.  Well, it's just a little tiny nitpick.  The Mirror Pond underground cave thing was a pretty cool looking place and I hope we see more parts of Equestria that look like that.

Yeah, quite a hilarious and random episode!  So far the first season seems to be getting off at a good start and the next episode will be interesting as we will see a new character from the Apple Family!  :D

When All the individual Pinkies started claiming to be the real Pinkie Pie, am I the only one who half expected a reference to the film Spartacus?

Eh.......no idea what that is, but it reminded me of a lot of other things like that.

To be honest, I haven't seen the movie either, but what I'm specifically talking about is a scene from the movie where this guy wants a slave named Spartacus, and in response, all the other slaves start standing up one by one, claiming that they are Spartacus.

I can handle only one Pinkie, but all those clones was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top! I could tell which was the real one by watching the paint the whole time, as well as being sad.

And also, remember when one of those Pinkie's changed their face to look like a G3 Pony?

And then, that stange pool of water, it's a lot like something in my fanfiction world, the Pond of Fortune, located on the highest mountain top in the Crystal Pony's homeland (which I call Falsarcticum)

I really enjoyed this episode, it's making me that friendship is magic is like a pony version of transformers animated, both are good series which make reference to the fans of previous gens with little nods like the g3 pinkie or that fire ruby that spike gives to rarity

with this many pinkie's, this would drive g1 suprise, bonkers and a major headache

I liked how they handled this episode a lot. Now that we know the first three are pretty good, I have high hopes for the rest of the season. :)

As for why they didn't go to extra lengths to show Pinkie's nana? Probably for the same reason you said about getting the elements of harmony to discover who the real Pinkie was.

Who knows? Maybe we'll see her in a future episode.

I really loved how they showed pinkie to be a more deep and caring individual and not just an out of control party animal (as the foal free press claimed in ponyville confidential lol). it was easy to see who was the real pinkie from the beginning she was more concerned about how her friends felt then just the fun. I was however disappointed with how none of the others noticed her being different from all the others pinkies who honestly reminded me of the seagulls from finding nemo. the one big thing I noticed with them pinkies was they where only physical clones and shared nothing else with her (personality wise) infact she had to teach them all her (and there) name so they could remember it. also WTF was with twilight? randomly killing off pinkies that didn't sit still? that was way to reckless (great visuals for the story but dangerous). given the clones where just mindless shells she could of quized them and found the real one but that would of made for a dull visual piece. all in all great episode including the mention of "watching paint dry" which reminded me of the fic called "pinkie watches paint dry" (same name but nothing else alike). can't wait till next week this seasons pumping out great episodes so far.

Yeah, the clones were sort of brainless if you'd ask me...

Well she was just sending them back to the pond and she did it because she knew they were not the real Pinkie I guess because she knew the real one would have tried her hardest to pass the test to stay...

This episode was enjoyable, with a few nitpicks, but the nitpicks are mostly continuity errors. Mainly with Fancy Pants apparently having a problem with the Pink Clone thing (if he lived in Ponyville, it'd be okay, but I think he was placed there as a backup stallion) and Rainbw Dash reading the same novel that she finished long ago. The animation with Pinkie Pie walking through the pond was amazing though.

Maybe Fancy Pants was visiting and maybe Dashie felt like reading the book over again.

That's one of the theories, FP visiting Rarity and commissioning something from her.

Dashie can reread books all she likes, After all, this WAS a minor nitpick from me.

For one thing, most of the background ponies in this episode had problems with the clones.

And for another, haven't you ever read a book and liked it so much that you read it again in the future?

Now we know that that Doctor Whooves, he will never be afraid of that Pinkie clone, he will just run to the TARDIS to repair the fabrics of time and space caused by Pinkie's clones.

That's true, most of the ponies seen were quite mad. But Fancy doesn't live in Ponyville. Him commissioning Rarity for a suit seems like a viable reason.

No. Can't say that I've ever reread a book. Not once.

Now I want to know to know more about Pinkie's Granny (that mare sure knew a lot of things!) Also, when I saw the "fingers", I thought "this can't be a coincidence!"

But I'm starting to worry about Derpy. I can understand the absence in the first 2 episodes (a far-away kingdom and all...) but there were at least two scenes where she could have been in this episode; and while I don't think that the Derpygate could repeat, I would feel more at ease if I see some Derpy.

Okay. It was a youtube video featuring a scene from Too Many pinkie pies, but with the sound of the seagulls from Finding Nemo. I'd never link anything that's scary, or ear shattering.

This episode I honestly thought was gonna be really annoying and not so good, even though I love Pinkie, but in the end, it's one of my favorite episodes! I laughed so hard the entire time!

Weird; earlier I dropped that on YouTube and got oodles of replies between "u disgust me... go on", "LMAO XDD", "I don't get it; why does this have over 100 likes?", and "haha dude nice one".
Than again here and the site where unoriginal jokes grant you hundreds of internet thumbs are probably very different in their demographic.

Honestly I don't give a rip what other people think of that joke, I wasn't really amused by it. So please, no more jokes like that, especially not for a show as innocent and light-hearted as this one, it sickens me to the core.

:icondizzyplz: My head's still reeling from this one... I knew I forgot to add aspirin to my provisions.

As I expected, it got incredibly crazy. Lots of top-on expressions, nice to see the townsfolk get some love again (boy, was the Doc grouchy today), and all the insanity I expect from a Pinkie Pie episode.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going the docks... the gulls are quite active today.

Yeah this was a funny episode. It reminds of those cloning gags from other cartoons shows like Dexter's Laboratory. The magic mirror pool reminded me of a level from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with all the glowing plants. The part where one of the Pinkie clones sprouted fingers was wierd but funny; she should've done that while Lyra was around. Now that would've been funny. And yeah part where another clone morphs her face to look like a G3 pony was also funny, mostly because it just came out of nowhere.

By the way, what are your thoughts on the new Littlest Pet Shop episode?
