Something to remember about Ebay (PLEASE READ)

When you are on Ebay and you see something you like and you click "Buy it Now" and confirm the order, you are COMMITTING to paying for that item so if you get an invoice asking for you to send the money, YOU MUST PAY FOR IT!!!

The reason I'm sending this newsflash to everyone is because some idiot on the site bought one of my old Transformers figures a few weeks ago and didn't pay.  Here's how it went down:

I got a notification saying he bought my item but he hadn't paid yet so I sent him the invoice.  I prepared the package and waited several days for him to pay.  It was the weekend so I figured he was away from his computer or wasn't active on weekends so I waited till Monday night if I recall correctly and sent him a quick note letting him know that I sent the invoice and about a day later I got a reply from him saying "I don't want to buy it sorry".



What the hell?  Is this guy an idiot?!  He already DID buy it!

Anyway, I replied saying he has to pay since he already ordered it and if he doesn't he'll be in trouble.  I figured he'd pay anyway but no, instead I got this in response:

"Please I don't want it I don't have the money I didn't see that the shipping was 7.75$ I thought that it was free and I don't have the money I already spent it so please just take it back I'm so so so sorry

Either this guy is 12 and has no idea what he's doing or he's as old as me and is just downright stupid.

Well to make things worse, I kept sending him messages reminding him to work this out because I just sent an "unpaid item case" to Ebay to see if they'd help but he did nothing and continuously ignored my messages.  I finally said to Hell with it and closed the case, got my final value fee, and reported his ass for violating Ebay's policies.


Folks, when you want to buy something online, you should make doubly sure you can actually afford it.  Don't be like this moron.  You cannot afford to get an unpaid item strike or you may not be able to buy certain items as you can be blacklisted from other buyers and your account could even be suspended or banned entirely.  Shop smart.
