Pray for my grandfather... (UPDATE)

He went to the hospital about a week ago and has not been doing too well.  He had a urinary tract infection and now he's having internal bleeding and several other problems.  The doctors seem to think he'll make it out ok though I do think he hasn't got much time left.  Even if he doesn't die in the hospital now he may only have a few months left.

He has diabetes, is on medications daily and he's in his 80's so I wouldn't be that surprised if he went any time soon.  I hope he can at least last long enough for when family comes up in a few weeks or even long enough to see my sister's new baby in August.

If he does pass away any time soon I'll let you guys know and will probably have to take a break from art and possibly the internet in general for at least a few days to take some time to heal and visit family.  For anyone waiting on commissions, I'm sorry if this causes you to have to wait a bit longer but I am sure you all will understand anyway...

UPDATE:  Turns out he had an ulcer and they did a quick operation this afternoon.  I didn't get to see him cuz he was apparently very tired so I just went out with my parents and grandmother and aunt.  I'm going to see if I can go see him tomorrow and hopefully he'll be able to talk a little more.  They're keeping him there for a few more days to recover and then hopefully he can finally return home.  Once he gets home I'm going to have to start visiting my grandparents a little more to help them out and keep him company during what I perceive to be his last days...

UPDATE 2:  We had a bit of a scare this morning.  My mom rushed home a few minutes before I took off for work saying that the hospital called her to let her know he may have had a stroke.  I visited after work and thankfully nothing serious seemed to have happened.  He was able to move and talk and he remembered who we were so no signs of a stroke, probably just some minor seizure.  They said he was unresponsive earlier that morning and they had to do a CAT scan.  They did an MRI a while ago and will have more results soon.  Well he is certainly doing a lot better than he was a few days ago and doesn't have "ICU dementia" anymore.  The other day he had this short episode where started freaking out and told us over and over again to hold his hand and then explained that he entered a trance where he saw "creatures that were transforming him".  Sounded like some divine vision the way he described it but he may have just been losing his mind from some of the medication.  When my grandmother went to the ICU a while ago she said some hilarious things.

Well things seem to be going ok now.  I was scared this morning but it looks like that was all it was: a scare.  I hope things go better and he can come home soon.  My sister is visiting and will go see him tomorrow so hopefully that will make him feel better.
