Magic Duel review (SPOILERS!!!)

What a freaking awesome episode!  Trixie returns, more Zecora, Fluttershy being so silly and adorable, 'alicorn' is now an official term in the show, and a bunch of other hilarious stuff!  

I'll start off talking about Trixie first.  She sure did steal the show in this episode, I'll tell you that!  She's just like she was in Boast Busters: arrogant, talks in the third person, and the perfect bad girl pony of the show.    Although she is still a fraud cuz she cheats with that mysterious Alicorn Amulet which makes her reeeeeeeally powerful; we're talking Discord-level spells here people!  But her pride sure did get the best of her when Twilight and her friends all outsmarted her at the end.  And even more unexpected, Trixie FINALLY learns her lesson and apologizes!  I was not expecting that at all, I thought for sure she would do what she did last time and run off swearing revenge and then probably come back aided by an even more powerful villain.  In a sense I'm kinda disappointed cuz I miss the old villain Trixie, but who knows, maybe she'll still be a villain or maybe she'll get manipulated or something.  Who knows....  But we best get used to the Great and Apologetic Trixie now cuz it's canon!  :3

All the mane 6 were great in this, especially Fluttershy!  She was so funny in the scene in the library and when she had to go out to find Twilight in the Everfree Forest!    And then the line about her wanting to be back in her cottage with her teddy bear!    Oh Fluttersy, what are we gonna do with you!?    And Pinkie was great too cuz we saw her break the 4th wall at the end when she finally got her mouth back.  Oh, and now Twilight can officially break the 4th wall too.......HA!  Other funny stuff like AJ getting tickled by feathers, Dashie getting tickled by Trixie's magic, and poor Rarity pricking her hoof by accident was quite a laugh.  

Also, I really hope I'm not the only one who noticed the Star Wars reference in the part with Zecora and Twilight.  "You must unlearn what you have learned."  Clever DHX is!  

I was probably most impressed with the outcome.  Once I learned that Twilight was going to use another amulet to take on Trixie, I thought the writers were jumping the shark with that making it look like she was going to just end up being a sorceress from all that power, but it was all just a trick to get Trixie to take off her amulet and I thought it was hilarious how they painted and redid the hair of Granny Smith, the CMC, Big Mac and everyone else to make it look like Twilight was using real aging, cloning, and gender-bending spells on her friends.    It was hilarious when the 'male Applejack' came in!  

Also, it is kinda too bad we didn't get to see much from the Saddle Arabia *giggle snort* ponies or even Celestia.  They didn't even talk in this episode.  But I guess they were just there to fill in kinda.  Still, the Hub shouldn't have included them in one of the teaser adverts cuz I think it got a lot of us hyped up about seeing them.  Oh well, it's better than them being Celestia's parents I guess (I seriously thought that when I saw them a few weeks ago in the ads).

So yeah, that's my 2 cents on the episode.  I usually do these reviews after I've seen the episode 2 or 3 times (and sometimes a few days late) but I had to jump in and do this one right afterwards so that must mean it's really good!  I think I can say this is the best episode in the season so far.  I really liked Too Many Pinkie Pies but this one was pretty epic and it's always great to see a familiar face.  Welcome to the club Trixie!
