Gilda custom is finished you guys! I finished her about last night. I started her the day before so that really didn't take too long at all!
So what you're seeing here came from a Feathermay toy if I remember correctly. I cut off her hair like usual and then used an exacto to cut off her ears and wings and trimmed down her legs to accommodate more room for the Sculpey clay that would be put on the legs for Gilda's legs. I did that with yellow and tan clay and then glued some wings from the molded Celestia onto her back with superglue. I then put some clay around the wings where they were connected to the back to eliminate any visible cracks or dry glue. Then I put white clay on the head and made the feathers and beak. The tail is clay put over a little bendy wire and smeared onto her butt with more of the same color clay. I then baked her at 275 F in the oven for 15 minutes to harden the clay. Her wings were pretty flimsy and coming down though due to the angle they were at so I waited till she was cool enough to hang her so they wouldn't warp and point downward. Be careful if you ever do the same, might wanna find a way to prop them up during the baking. And then of course the rest was all just a matter of painting. Painted the legs, body, tail and wings with brown and dark brown paint and the eyes and purple to her chest and the tips of her forehead feathers. The last step was sealing her with Mod Podge for durability.
Well that sure turned out pretty good for my first Gilda custom! It really wasn't as hard as it looks at all! I gotta do more of these and I'll put them on eBay if I do. how much would you guys pay for a custom like this?
That's why I'm selling her cuz I can do much better at making a Gilda custom now. This one is good for my first time but it's kinda gloppy and the painting could be better so that's why I'm putting her on eBay.
