Discord vector WIP

OMG LOOK, I MADE A FREAKING VECTOR!!!!!

This is the original sketch [link] that it came from. I'm doing this for a grade in my Digital Illustration class, but it hasn't been handed in quite yet. I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say about it though!

At first, it was reeeeeeeeeally hard to vector this guy in Adobe Illustrator!! The pen tool is a freaking nightmare! I'm so used to using Paint so I have no clue what's going on half the time! And the fact that I couldn't directly use the eye-dropper tool to pick a color for the stroke color (someone had been tampering with the preferences and we couldn't fix it) didn't help much either. But after a while I found ways to get it done and eventually it got a bit easier as I went on. It's really frustrating to work with the pen tool in AI, but I wanna try it some more with MLP characters! Since Discord is quite complex, I'm sure if I do the ponies, it'll be a lot easier.

So yeah, it's not exactly perfect. Quite a few iffy spots here and there. I'll revise this next time I get access to the Mac lab and fix up some parts and then I'll make it a smart object and put it in PS and subtract the background and stuff so I can make a PNG like all the other MLP vector artists on here do. That way people can download it and use for desktops and junk, so long as they give me credit and link me the pic. And I have a black background in the PDF so you guys can see it easier.

Again, don't use this vector just yet for any wallpapers or collab stuff just yet people. It's not done, but once I finish it entirely and make it a PNG with no background, then you all will be free to use it for that...

So yeah, this turned out rather well, and just like I expected it! I plan on doing this more for some future pics hopefully and maybe someday I can afford to get AI! If any of you AI vector artists out there have any tips and hints, don't hesitate to give them in the comments! And premium members please give a critique!

EDIT: Uh......ok, is anyone else getting the really blurry JPEG look in your preview window? If so, I honestly don't know why that's happening...

EDIT 2: I took a screencap and saved it as a PNG for you guys to view, the PDF viewer thing is showing up too blurry on some people's computers including mine.
