Custom Rarity 2.0 by AleximusPrime Custom Rarity 2.0 by AleximusPrime
I redid my Rarity custom as you can see. Not the same one as the first one I did a year ago but I was going to put the mane and tail on the body of the old one. The body of the old one had her horn removed so I could use it for my new Vinyl Scratch custom and I got rid of her old mane and tail and threw them out cuz they weren't too good and now I have an extra hornless Rarity for custom fodder.

This Rarity is a huuuuuuuuuuuge improvement since the last one! I was very proud of how the shape of the mane and tail turned out, it almost looks like OtakuSquirrel level! Well, maybe not that much, but it's pretty darn close! I put a lot of blood and sweat into sculpting them too, there as a lot of sanding and carving done! I think I'm getting used to that though, now I realize the hard work customizers go through but it sure pays off in the end! The paint job is beautiful too! It is just plain purple all around cuz I am not sure I can do the gradients in her hair but the shade is just right and the Mod Podge sealed it off well! Her hair may look too light of purple in this but that's just because of the lighting of my camera.

So anyways, I hope you guys like it and I'm working on Shining Armor and soon Cadance hopefully. I will also see if I can get Rainbow Dash done soon but I might do all of this once I graduate which will be in...............OMG, TWO WEEKS!!!!

Please no requests.  I made this a while ago and am out of practice and I don't have time to do anything unless it's on my own specific agenda.

If you hadn't placed your watermark on the picture, I would have thought that it was made by OtakuSquirrel. :)

Amazing job with her curls, too.

I feel great that people are starting to compare him to me! :D I am learning more as I go along and his customs have taught me a lot about making my own too.

Well, I have to say, your pony customs caught my eye in the Artisan Crafts page--have you considered doing a tutorial? Also, where do you get the bases and other materials for your customs? Just the toy section of any superstore and craft stores?

I should do a tutorial someday.

I get the ponies from typical retail (Walmart, Toys R Us, Target, etc...) and I get the Sculpey III oven bake clay, Mod Podge, and acrylic paint from the Hobby Lobby which sells a lot of really good arts and crafts supplies.

I think the colour of the main is just about perfect... No need for gradients since it's the real deal! The lights will do all the shading and gradients you need! :D It's important in digital work but not so much here I think...

I simply adore the way the front part of her mane is seamlessly joined with the back part of her mane.

Oh snap, graduation!

That's usually how people do the mane. Actually I think I had to smear one blob of clay onto the other one to make both separate parts. There is a twirly wire connecting them in there just in case it would break while I was carving.

I know, can you believe it!
