Of course, that happened in one of Equestria's darker ages....
(still, you may want to see about keeping a few of those in suspended animation somewhere.)
That's the problem with experimental humor: sometimes the joke floparoos because the guy telling it hasn't thought it through enough.
But when I saw the Mirror Pool again it made me wonder how such a strangely strange piece of magic came about in the first place?
Motive to make it? Well, instant armies aside there's that classic of sci-fi horror: organ farming for transplant ... only with a pony twist.
But as they say: if the joke's explanation is longer than the joke it was a major fail for the teller.
So, again, sorry.
